I love getting my hands on new courses and content. I’ve spent more than I’d care to admit on online classes. Some have been helpful, and others are utter trash.
Sometimes, there is some free content out there that is valuable and actionable. So good, in fact, you can almost immediately see a return on your investment of time. And even make some extra money.
This year has taught us all to diversify and grow our income. At the same time, many are unable to purchase courses for hundreds of dollars.
The five courses I mention below are free.
If you want something out of life — a better body, more income, better relationships, and so on — it’s going to take sustained effort over a long period. That effort does not have to be superhuman every day, but it needs to be there.
Nothing’s new under the sun.
No fancy hack, skill, or course won’t get us there. It’s a sustained effort.
It’s not only a sustained effort on the things we should do, but also on what we shouldn’t do. I’ve been finding myself in this loop of:
Hindsight is really 20–20. Or, in this case, 20–21. Over the last 6 months, I’ve immersed myself in learning about financial independence, building your skills, and living a life without financial worry. I’ve started to make moves toward not only becoming financially literate but taking financial action.
At the same time, I can’t help but wonder why I did not know just ¼ of the things I know today. My mother was not financially literate, and my father was not around. She did what she could to keep us fed, alive, and safe, and I’m eternally grateful. However, she, too…
The pandemic has forever affected our lives. Some of us have been sick, know someone with the virus, or would have lost loved ones. Most of us had our lives uprooted and our income negatively affected in some way.
But there have been some positives (if you’ve been self-quarantining).
The pandemic sped up the Digital Economy. Now, it’s easier than ever to start an additional freelance job online.
And it’s easier than ever to craft your freelancer career. You no longer need to climb the corporate ladder. …
I recently had a coaching call with a content creator stuck in his business. As is customary, I start with a blunt question that can help me gauge where someone is at in their business or endeavor:
What do you want?
“Well, I want to be known in my space,” he responded. I want to increase my subscriber base and if someone needs a sponsor or influencer for a particular product, I want them to think about me.”
“Well, that’s happening right now,” I responded. “You already have followers who know you and your subscribers are increasing. And I’m sure…
“Stress acts as an accelerator: it will push you either forward or backward, but you choose which direction.”
We have a love-hate relationship with stress. Our muscles need physical stress to grow and get stronger, so we apply it during our workouts. Materials like glass, clay, and coal need stress to create new, amazing objects. We need stress to bend and break things so they can be made new.
But when it comes to our own lives, we avoid stress like the plague. We want everything to be easy and ‘stress-free.’
And in some cases, this works.
As the song goes, Cash Rules Everything Around Me.
Yes, I know. We need to get the money. Once you build wealth, you can funnel it into other parts of your life.
Everyone’s focused on the money to the point where it’s getting stressful, overwhelming, and downright annoying.
For example, my Medium feed has turned into a circle jerk of “How I Made $10,000 in 30 Days Freelancing” or “How I Created 10 Passive Income Streams In 12 Months.”
Their goal is not to be clickbait but to “inspire” and “motivate” you to take action. But these articles only succeed…
When I started freelancing, I had no idea how difficult it would be. You’re always thinking about where your next client will come from or if you’ll get scammed. There are times where you’ll bite off more than you could chew and other times, you’ll experience some scope creep.
On the flip side, you can craft your own workday. You can build your own career ladder. And in time, you can increase your rates to match your expertise.
With both the pros and cons, one thing’s for sure, it can’t be your end game. At its core, freelancing is trading…
Life is weird.
These times are weird.
One moment, we could feel on top of the world, living our best lives. The next, it could feel like things are falling apart. Some of us are just picking up the pieces of our lives from a pandemic that shows no signs of slowing down.
We would have lost loved ones, lost our jobs, our business, and even key relationships. The good thing is that we have life. As long as we’re alive and breathing, we have the opportunity to change. …
I think I’ve fallen in love with about three women in my life. The first one never knew — rather that’s what I told myself. Women always know.
We were teenagers and went to school together. We hit it off as soon as we met. We were inseparable. A few of my classmates — friends to this day — encouraged me to make a move.
I was quick to let them know that it was not happening. We were just friends. But deep down, that’s not how I felt.
I didn’t want to make a move because my teenage years…
