It’s Ok To Take Time Away From It All
Social media, writing, whatever. Take as much time as you need
If you have a two or three-year-old child, you’d probably come across an episode or two of Pepper Pig. In the show is Mr. Bull, who often dig up the road. When anyone asks him how long it will take so they can pass, he always says, “It will take as long as it takes.”
He’s not rushed.
He’s doing what he loves, which is digging up the road. And he’s going to take as long as he needs to get it done.
I have not published any content on Medium for several months for several reasons. I still read lots of content from some of my favorite writers. I still roll my eyes at the constant “make money online” stuff that seems to be clogging up my feed like a blocked toilet. I just did not feel the need to publish any content.
At first, Medium was becoming a law of diminishing returns for me. The more I published on it, the less I got in terms of income and exposure. Then life hit me as it did everyone in the last three years. Frankly, I just ran out of steam. Running out of steam happens, and when you do, you should take a rest. Unfortunately, what tends to happen is that we’re sometimes guilted into resting or how long we should be resting. What’s worse, we beat up on ourselves for resting :
