Focus.
It’s one of the biggest things I’ve begun working on.
I’ve noticed a significant decline in my ability to remain on task for long periods.
And it’s permeating into other parts of life.
I’m not the only one. It’s becoming something of an epidemic:
- 50% of people can’t focus on a task for more than 8 minutes.
- The average student’s attention span during a lecture is 10–15 minutes before a decline in focus. It’s 2.7 minutes when the average person watches a video.
- The average office worker is interrupted every 11 minutes. And it takes 23 minutes to get back on track.
No wonder we’re struggling to get things done.
If you have a goal like making more money, losing weight, or learning a new skill, you may be wondering why you can’t get it done.
Your willingness to do it is not the issue.
The resources available are not the issue.
Plain ol’ focus is the issue.
