What Freelancers ‘Really’ Could Learn From A 33-year-old Mom Making $40,000/Mth ‘Passively.’

I found this article on CNBC about a mom — Michelle Schroeder-Gardner — who makes 40K a month. Yet, she’s automated most of her stuff and only works 2 hours a week while living on a sailboat.

When I read articles like these, I cringe.

Not from a space of jealousy or thinking that it’s impossible, but from a space of minimizing the actual effort it took for this mom to achieve her dreams.

We all click because of the title and leave with ‘simple,’ actionable tips. But simple, it is not.

Yes, there are a few lines in there that skim over her journey, but as freelancers and solopreneurs, we must understand that there’s more to it than automation, time management, delegation, and ‘starting a newsletter.’

When you read blogs like these, always remember the following:

You only see the tip of the iceberg

Successful freelancers are often celebrated on CNBC, podcasts, and similar platforms. Who can forget…
